If you are from Perth, you would agree that we have what other city has, We have tall buidlings, shops, malls, restaurants, tourist sites.

Why does people live in Perth?
We live here because we love the place.
We live here because of family, friends, work, and other commitments.
we live here because it is a modern city but it is not as crowded as other capital cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore.
We live here bcecause of the good weather - not too hot, not too cold -
We live here because we are supporting Fremantle Dockers or West Coast Eagles
We live here because it is where Rove, Megan Gale, Heath Ledger is from..
etc.. etc..
You can come up with gazillion reasons why you live in Perth and choose to stay there but what about improvements? How about this year(2009) addition to our city?

Perth Wheel was an addition to our city at the beginning of 2009. Some might find it as a big joke to have a wheel on our Foreshore.. but hey, Ours was the only one working in the Southern Hemisphere for a while (Singapore Flyer broke down in Dec 08 and Melbourne's Southern Star Observation Wheel is not operationing due to Excessive heat in Dec 08)
Next improvement we need are: Trading Hours. If everywhere around the world has already entered the 21st Century, why are we Perthnians still living in 1940s?
Shops here closes at 6PM weekdays and 5PM on Saturdays, How about Sundays? Answer: Generally, shops are not open on this Sabbath day.
We had a Referendum in 2005 to vote on extended trading hours for Perth but it was the No majority that rules. That was like 4 years ago. How about having another one Next Year in 2010? We have people coming in from all over the world these past 4 years, we have new Australians being sworned every 3 months. We need to get those people heard as well.
Yes the Labour Government has opposed to the Extended Trading hours, but hopefully, we can still be heard

Please check this Online Petition, this might be a small step that someone takes to get Extended Trading Hours in action, but I think the good effort and intention by "progressionforWA" needs every promotion it can get.
A Big Thanks for those who have signed this Petition.
