KBS Melodrama Full Sun is a revenge romance melodrama. The plot is pretty much you regular korean drama format similar to Nice Guy (2012) or Secret (2013).

Plot Summary:

Jung Se Ro is your main character, a hard working young man studying for his foreign civil service exam who dreams or living a normal life despite having a criminal father. He went to Thailand to visit his father who is involved with a ring of diamond smuggler. One fateful night, he witnessed shooting of a man which leads to him being wrongfully accused and imprisoned.  

After his release, he takes up a new identity, joined the diamond smuggler ring becoming a con man to seek revenge for his past by targeting a jewelry brand owned by Han Young Won thinking that she is the reason for his imprisonment.

Han Young Won has closed her world after the death of her fiance but whilst Se Ro starting his revenge, he helps Young Won out from the darkness and she gave him a reason to live. 

Comments:

My first favorite drama in 2014. Given is a revenge - romance - melodrama, not many would be attracted to watch this. However despite the low rating, this drama has a solid cast of actors that amazes me with their brilliance in portraying their character. Yoon Kye Sang went from the bright and charming Jung Se Ro transitioning to the darker side being full of hatred and angst. The happy and spunky Han Ji Hye went into a distraught state and slowly becoming a stronger person. So many mixed emotions poured in this drama.. oh and don't forget lots and lots of tear being poured in almost every episode.
Initially when this drama is picked up by my radar, I am more interested in the cast. Yoon Kye Sang's and Han Ji Hye's work has always been in my list of watched dramas. Two of them together plus Son Ho Jun and Song Jeong Ho makes this one is on the definite list to watch. I am glad that I have started and finished Full Sun before I even pick up God's Gift 14 days and Three days. Now that I am fully satisfied on my romance melo craving, time to pick a more serious one.
